Golden Horn
In Istanbul
The fresh water way called the Golden Horn in Mystery Babylon is fitting, when it looks like a little horn in the city that is the harlot, that rides upon the beast that is also called by The Holy Bible a little horn. I don't believe that it is a coincidence, but deliberate by our God to place it there as further proof of this evil City. Nobody seems to know how the Golden Horn got its name. I pretty much know where it got it's name myself, and I have just found the thing When the riches of the east and west met in this City, so much wealth (Gold) was moving through this water way the city was rich with money they made off of everybody. Christian slaves no doubt moved through here too.
If you view the water way from the sky it looks like a little horn that sits upon Antonia ( Turkey)
The Bosporus or Bosphorus (Turkish Boğaziçi or İstanbul Boğazı) is a strait that separates the European part (Rumeli) of Turkey from its Asian part (Anadolu), connecting the Sea of Marmara (Marmara Denizi) with the Black Sea (Karadeniz). It is 30 km long, with a maximum width of 3,700 meters at the northern entrance, and a minimum width of 750 meters between Anadoluhisarı and Rumelihisarı. The depth varies from 36 to 124 meters in midstrem.
"Golden Horn" is its Western name. Its Turkish name, Haliç, (hah-LEECH) has nothing to do with gold or horns. The Haliç is merely the body of water which separates the "old" and "new" parts of European Istanbul.
The Galata Bridge crosses the Golden Horn at its mouth, connecting Old Istanbul (centered on Sultanahmet) to the south with Beyoglu (Galata and Pera) to the north.
This short river may have gotten its"golden" name because it was the commercial heart of the city, serving as the principal harbor of Byzantium, Constantinople and Istanbul for 2000 years, until the mid-20th century. Markets still abound here, and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce has its offices right on the shore.
